F is for Friday or, as it is know in the Twitterverse, #FollowFriday.
I was going to save my ‘The trouble with twitter’ post for the letter T. But, well, too many Ts and not enough time, right? I will probably regret this choice when it comes to the letter T and I am trying the squeeze a post out about tea bags or toilets.
So, what’s the trouble with Twitter? In one short word, for me, the trouble with Twitter is TIME
I like Twitter. It is fun and useful and I do believe that it is a place where you can make friends. But I do not have the time. I see people on there connecting and chatting, helping each other, supporting each other and most of all having fun. I go on there and I check out what a relatively small group of people are up to, I post links to my blog, I enter into the fray… and erm, then I have to go.
I have to go to change a nappy, put the washing out, do the dishwasher, cook, eat, sleep, blog – those kind of things. So I can’t keep up. I return and Twitter has moved on.
I imagine having a conversation with me on Twitter might be a little like having a conversation with an Ent – let’s just say it’s likely to be ‘unhasty’. I feel like I start conversations that I don’t finish. I dip my toe in. I don’t immerse myself. I don’t have TIME.
I know that I am not the only one with a toddler round my ankles and things to do. So, how do they do it, these smashing tweeters?
Anyway, I must dash. Things to do… such as get on to Twitter to #ff a few people. I am looking for some #atozchallenge folk to follow if you want to give me a wave… @bibseymama go on! Surely this blog post on its own is enough to tempt you… And if you are looking for other A-Z Challengers to follow, check out my blogroll in the sidebar for some great reads.
