OK, I have a blogging window of about 30 minutes. Can I squeeze a post out in that time? Can I buggery.
Yes, well spotted, B is for Buggery but this is not that type of blog.
B is also for Boogie Nights. Here at Bibsey Towers we like to dance. I may have mentioned it before. So I thought that I would share with you our bedtime playlist. This is the list that I have been developing since the good old days of breastfeeding before bed in order to calm my little ballerina down before bed and after Mr B has wound her up like a spring with banging dance music from the 90s.
I Could Have Danced All Night – My Fair Lady. This is the last hoorah before we really start winding down the music.
So Long Farewell – The Sound of Music. No list is complete without this, right?
Castle on a cloud – Les Miserables. A solid Bibsey favourite these days.
Wild is the Wind – Nina Simone or David Bowie depending on how we feel. Sometimes we are just not in Bowie state of mind.
Into My Arms – Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. In truth I probably haven’t played this since breastfeeding. It gives me goosebumps to remember those evenings.
Hushabye Mountain – Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Because if Dick Van Dyke aka Caractacus Potts can’t get your kids to go to sleep then nobody can.
Goodnight – The Beatles. There is something so gorgeous and magical about this track. I play it in the hope that some of that magic will transfer to bedtime…
What do you play to your children before they go to bed? Are there any sure fire sleep inducers that you can share?
Today’s post title was inspired by the film Boogie Nights which I saw at the cinema, back in 1997, with my lovely friend Linda when we lived in Hong Kong. If you came here looking for porn stars, cocaine and Mark Wahlberg flashing his piece about, I apologise for the disappointment.
I am blogging from A to Z every day in April except Sundays. Why? Because the voices in my head told me to. Please click the banner below to discover more blogs on taking up the same challenge.
