Happy Monday y’all. It’s a bright and windy day up here on the mountain. And a hellava day to finish the alphabet wouldn’t you say?
In the last twenty six days of blogging to the alphabet I don’t think that I have come out in favour of a particular letter… but Zed I have to say that I quite like. S too. I’ve got five of them in my name so we are well acquainted.
If you had a party and all the letters were there, Zed would be the cool one. A, B and C are cool of course, but in a ‘been there done it kind’ of way that actually makes them a bit ‘too cool’ for the party. Or at least they think so. And if we are honest, C is a bit jaded.
D is the darling of the dance floor and probably spends most of the night with E who is, as ever, wide eyed and bushy tailed. F and G are a good value couple and great to have around. H is trying not to mind too much about the red wine stain on her carpet. I, who gives good conversation, will wind up in the kitchen with J, while K will peak too soon and end up immobile under a pile of coats. L will be getting lusty with S on top of the coats.
M can’t drink because she is breast feeding and therefore driving, and she is finding conversation with some of the letters tedious as they start to repeat themselves. She is ready to go but N is just getting into the swing of things and is dragging his feet. O and P are egging him on and the night is young.
Q is on her own in the corner, she is like a fish out of water without U, who was uninvited. R and T are causing an obstruction on the stairs and wondering loudly about what S might be up to and with whom. V and W are apparently fashionably late, but might in fact have car trouble.
And finally we have X,Y and Zed. They are the bad boys of the alphabet and always the last ones to arrive. They could even be considered a little bit cliquy – always in huddle at the back.
Zed is the ringleader of that little crew. The cool one. Zed is Zaphod, Zebadee and Zappa. And Zed is Zaftig.
There was one Zed (apart from the obvious Zeta-Jones) who wasn’t cool – but news of his demise? That was cool. I will leave you with a little clip to remind you… enjoy.
