Save the Children is running a campaign to increase the number of Health Workers in poorer parts of the world in order to prevent the needless deaths of the many children who die every day from preventable illnesses.
The blogging community is contributing to that campaign by helping to raise awareness and gather more names for this petition to David Cameron. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to click the link and sign.
To encourage more signatures Helloitsgemma and Mummy from the Heart have set a challenge to fellow bloggers to write 100 words about a great health professional who they have encountered.
I was tagged by the ever-fab motherventing to add my 100 words. Here they are:
Sadly I had a miscarriage recently and had to spend a night in hospital. Mr B couldn’t come with me as he had to look after Bibsey – living away from family we found that we had no one to help out that day. I got lost in the hospital trying to find the right ward and I was in tears by the time I found where I was meant to be. I was greeted by a young nurse who literally held my hand and was sweet, kind and utterly professional. She made that sad, horrible day a bit more bearable.
So, as usual, I think that I may be a little bit late in making my contribution. Not too late I hope.
Anyway, to keep the torch alight, to any bloggers reading this who have not yet contributed please blog your 100 words and link it up at Mummy from the Heart Blog. I believe, at time of posting, that we have about 12 hours remaining to link up.
Each blog can make a difference, so share this message and tweet your post #healthworkers. If you are not blogging sign the petition and spread the word.
