Today, I get to boast about my daughter.
She said “Yanks mummy” when I gave her a spoon for her cornflakes this morning. Good manners will get you a long way my angel.
She spent hours in the car today as we raced about doing Christmas shopping and other bollocks stuff that she can see no sense in.
She didn’t complain when I got her in and out of her car seat and buggy maybe 20 times.
She behaved beautifully at the ITV (MOT) Centre even when a strange man got in the car with us to have a look at the seat belts. Turns out he has a little girl too, about Bibsey’s age, and they are both already pretty fussy about footwear. And if a girl wants to wear her zapatillas to the shops, who is to say that that she shouldn’t?
She may have got into trouble with Daddy (and Mummy) for kicking the table during supper this evening but she didn’t drop a drop of that supper on the floor. A glorious first.
She helped put the rug back in front of the fire, after Mr B had cleaned it out, because clearly it just needed doing. Initiative – me gusta mucho.
She also ‘helpfully’ tried to unload the clean wet washing from my famous washing basket into the dishwasher telling me it was “cold” and “wet”. Which was of course exasperating but, I cannot deny, well intentioned.
She has just gone to bed FULL of beans, but apparently straight to sleep. *Sighs*
She has made me laugh all day, because she is happy and funny and just likes a laugh.
So, yes, today I shall have a little boast about my girl, because she is just a brilliant little girl who lights up our days and destroys our nights. *yawns and dislocates jaw*
And because sadly today would have been my due date. No doubt it would not have been THE date. But it was the date that the doctor gave us. That was before they told us it was not to be. So, instead of doing what we might have been doing, we got the shopping done, and sorted the car out and swapped the gas bombona (which ran out this morning causing much consternation over the lack of a cup of real coffee) and generally got on with things smiling and laughing and stuffing copious snacks as we went.
A good day. Thank you my darling sweetheart. xxx
