C is for Cry in the River. Huh? I will explain erm, somewhere near the end of the post.
Here at Bibsey Towers we have got to the stage where communication with my nearly three year old has become a joy. Oh and a pain. But let’s get back to the joy. Conversations are astounding, abounding, repetitive, hilarious and mostly charming. She can keep me amused all the way down the hill and back up again.
Here are some of her wise words and proclamations that I don’t want to forget…
Pimbumber – how we will always refer to cucumber in this house.
Winnie my Pooh – this is a development on Innie my Pooh.
I could have danced tonight – her version of I Could Have Danced All Night from Bibsey’s bedtime playlist.
Gigi, what a fantastic… top! – On first sight of her friend Gigi recently, who was, I cannot deny, wearing a totally fantastic top.
Mummy I am going to wear this fantastic top today – When digging out something entirely inappropriate for the windy weather, which I had also tried to stash away because it is too small. How does she find this stuff?
I will do this myself in the future – to Mr B when helping her get into a pair of jeans.
I belong here in the garden with the flowers Mummy – Yesterday evening when Mr B and I were out weeding in the garden – I know, someone take a photo so that my Mum will actually believe I was gardening.
And when her communication skills backfire… on me…
I just got to listen to Mummy’s hurty bum bum – as she tried to stick a toy stethoscope down the back of my jeans the other day when we had friends over.
But my current favourite is when I am playing Babara Streisand in the car and we get to Cry Me a River. She sings her heart out CRY IN THE RIVER, CRY IN THE RIVER, BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH OOOOO
Oh, I love her. And I love Barbara. And I love that Bibsey loves Barbara. And here she is in all her glory, Babs not Bibs – though wouldn’t that be great, let me see what I can arrange – with Cry Me a River.

I am on the A to Z Blogging Challenge 2013 – blogging nearly every day in April – because I of course have nothing better to do with my time. And, assuming that you don’t either, I recommend that you read this every day. Really you should because…
