Hooray. I was so hoping that one of the Listography challenges over at Kate Takes 5 would dovetail with my April Alphabetical Odyssey, and it has! This week she asks: If you were able to influence the Fairy Godmother, what would you wish for your children? Here’s mine:
For today I wish
That this bloody recurring eye infection would just f*ck off. En serio, we have had enough now with the eye drops. Poor Bibble Bot and her icky eyes.
For her childhood I wish
That she has lots and lots of happy memories of fun times with family and friends to tell to her children. My sister and brother and I like to wind-up the nieces and nephews with vamped versions of tales from our childhood. Most involve my Granny, who we spent summers with when we were very young. At least one involved a carving knife and the threat of losing a tongue for telling tales… quite Grimm.
For her youth I wish
That she finds the world a better place than it is now. That she follows her bliss. That she makes good friends to have fun with and doesn’t look back and have too much to cringe about. I have many a tale from The Land of Shod and a fair few that make me blush.
For her middle age I wish
That she has a family of her own and is still surrounded by good friends. That she nurtures her passions. I should also wish for a strong pelvic floor for her shouldn’t I?
For her old age I wish
That she lives to a ripe old age and has lots of grandchildren who come to see her often, to entertain her with dancing and singing, and to hear all her tales of travel and adventure. I wish that she can look back on her long life and know that she has lived well and experienced the joy of love, friendship and family.
And a little extra wish for me and Mr B, that she will always want to and be able to find her way home to see us.
For more wishes and to join in pop over to Kate Takes 5. There are some corkers there.
